We present the sixth installment of Mooresville Moments (1999) paying tribute to Samuel Moore, the founder of Mooresville, Indiana. This column relates the townspeople's gifts honoring Moore on January 1, 1875. The gold-headed cane, along with other of Moore's possessions, are on permanent display at Mooresville Public Library in the Indiana Room collection.
Mooresville Public Library (Mooresville, Indiana) presents its Indiana Room blog, which we have entitled "Treasure Trove" because of the many historical treasures that comprise the MPL Indiana Room Collection. We will be sharing a wealth of such historical tidbits through this blog, focusing primarily on the history of Mooresville and Morgan County, Indiana.
