Exterior Developments (2007)

In 2007 construction began on the MPL Kinder Garden, which is located on the southeast corner of the 1988 Library building.  It is an outdoor nature retreat for children's programming and special youth services events.  It is also the exclusive hangout for Cauli Le Chat (since November, 2010), real-life feline who serves as the official MPL roving reporter.

"Hey!  This concrete is still wet!  My boot's stuck."

"The grass!  I said, Mow the grass!"
(Just kidding with these captions)

Kinder Garden Dedication (July 12, 2008)

In 2009, construction on the Library's outdoor courtyard began.  It would be connected to the Kinder Garden and other sidewalks surrounding the complex by the Pathway to Knowledge (Legacy Lane).  More about that next time.
